Chennai Local Train Block Updates
Southern Railway will conduct Line Block and Power Block on most of the days in the Chennai Suburban section for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works under Railway zones. Following are Chennai Local Train Block Updates.
Basin Bridge and Vysarpadi Jiva Railway Stations : Line Block/Signal Block Upto 19.11.2024 and 26.11.2024
Southern Railway has announced that, prioritizing passenger safety and the safe operation of trains, a Line Block/Signal Block will be implemented as part of ongoing engineering works. This will take place in the Chennai Central and Arakkonam sections, specifically between Basin Bridge and Vysarpadi Jiva railway stations, from 23:10 hrs to 06:40 hrs on 19th and 26th November 2024 (for a duration of 7 hours and 30 minutes). As a result, the following changes will be made to the pattern of express train services.
DIVERSION OF EXPRESS TRAINS
- Train No. 22645 Indore – Kochuveli Superfast Express leaving Indore at 16.45 hrs on 18th and 25th November 2024 will be diverted to run via Korukkupet- Vysarpadi Jiva- Perambur with skipping stoppage at Dr. MGR Chennai Central. Additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur with timings 23.25 hrs (Arr)/23.30 hrs (Dep).
- Train No. 13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha Express leaving Dhanbad at 11.35 hrs on 18th & 25th November 2024 will be diverted to run via Korukkupet- Vysarpadi Jiva- Perambur with skipping stoppage at Dr. MGR Chennai Central. Additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur with timings 23.35 hrs (Arr)/23.40 hrs (Dep).
- Train No. 13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad Express leaving Alappuzha at 06.00 hrs on 21st & 28th November 2024 will be diverted to run via Perambur – Vysarpadi Jiva- Korukkupet with skipping stoppage at Dr. MGR Chennai Central. Additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur with timings 21.55 hrs (Arr)/22.05 hrs (Dep).
- Train No. 22648 Kochuveli – Korba Superfast Express leaving Kochuveli at 06.15 hrs on 21st & 28th November 2024 will be diverted to run via Perambur – Vysarpadi Jiva- Korukkupet with skipping stoppage at Dr. MGR Chennai Central. Additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur with timings 23.15 hrs (Arr)/23.25 hrs (Dep).
- Train No. 22652 Palakkad – Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express scheduled to leave Palakkad at 16.10 hrs on 19th & 26th November 2024 will be diverted to run via Dindigul- Villupuram- Chennai Egmore- Dr.MGR Chennai Central with skipping stoppage at Karur, Mohanur,Namakkal, Rasipuram, Salem, Morappur, Jolarpettai, Gudiyattam,Katpadi,Arakkonam,Tiruvallur & Perambur . Additional stoppage will be provided at Tiruchchirappalli Jn, Chengalpattu, Tambaram & Chennai Egmore.
CHANGE IN DESTINATION OF EXPRESS TRAIN
- Train No. 22650 Erode – Dr MGR Chennai Central, Yercaud Superfast express scheduled to leave Erode at 21.00 hrs on 19th & 26th November 2024 will terminate at Chennai Beach railway station.
SHORT TERMINATION OF EXPRESS TRAIN:
- Train No. 12658 – KSR Bengaluru – Dr MGR Chennai Central, Chennai Superfast Mail scheduled to leave KSR Bengaluru at 22.40 hrs on 19th & 26th November 2024 will be short terminated at Avadi railway station.
RECHEDULING OF EXPRESS TRAINS
- Train No. 12007 – Dr MGR Chennai Central- Mysuru, Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.00 hrs will be rescheduled to leave at 06.45 hrs on 20th & 27th November 2024.
- Train No. 12675 – Dr MGR Chennai Central- Coimbatore, Kovai Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.10 hrs will be rescheduled to leave at 06.50 hrs on 20th & 27th November 2024.
- Train No. 16057- Dr MGR Chennai Central- Tirupati, Sapthagiri Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.25 hrs will be rescheduled to leave at 06.55 hrs on 20th & 27th November 2024.
Singaperumal Koil – Chengalpattu Railway Stations : Line Block/Signal Block From 20.11.2024 To 23.11.2024
Southern Railway has announced that, in line with its commitment to passenger safety and the safe operation of trains, a Line Block/Signal Block will be implemented as part of ongoing engineering works. This will take place in the Chennai Egmore and Villupuram sections, specifically between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu railway stations, from 13:10 hrs to 16:10 hrs, from 20th to 23rd November 2024 (for a duration of 3 hours). As a result, the following changes will be made to the EMU train services.

- Train No. 40529, Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local leaving Chennai Beach at 11:40 hrs is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu from 20th to 23rd November 2024.
- Train No. 40531, Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local leaving Chennai Beach at 12:20 hrs is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu from 20th to 23rd November 2024.
- Train No. 40533, Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local leaving Chennai Beach at 12:40 hrs is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu from 20th to 23rd November 2024.
- Train No. 40535, Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local leaving Chennai Beach at 13:45 hrs is PARTIALLY CANCELLED between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu from 20th to 23rd November 2024.
