First ever Electric Train in Kashmir Valley

On February 20, 2024, the Prime Minister inaugurated the inaugural electric train service in the Kashmir Valley, marking a significant milestone in the esteemed USBRL Project aimed at vastly improving railway connectivity in the region. The DEMU train is bewteen Sangaldan and Baramulla.

The introduction of electric train service linking Srinagar and Sangaldan station in Jammu and Kashmir promises streamlined rail access throughout the region, poised to catalyze socio-economic advancement across the entirety of the area.
