Numerous Indian Railway zones are initiating the disclosure of modifications in train schedules, frequency adjustments, revised timings, and various other alterations. These adjustments are set to be implemented with the unveiling of the ✅ Train Schedule . The specifics are outlined below.

Train Schedule 2024 ~ Updates

Central Railway announced that a new “Trains at a Glance” railway timetable will take effect starting January 1, 2025. The current “Trains at a Glance” railway timetable will remain valid until December 31, 2024.

Eastern Railway : Revision in Timing of Trains

The speed of the tracks on the Jasidih to Madhupur route in the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has been increased to 130 km per hour. This has led to a revision of the timetable for several mail and express trains, which is expected to improve their punctuality. The new schedule will come into effect shortly, and for the convenience of passengers, the revised timings for each train are listed below:

• Train no. 13122 from Gazipur City to Kolkata will now arrive at Asansol at 01:50 and depart at 01:55. It will arrive at Durgapur at 02:25 and depart at 02:27, starting from 28.10.24.
• Train no. 22214 from Patna to Shalimar will now arrive at Asansol at 01:50 and depart at 01:55, starting from 26.10.24.
• Train no. 13020 from Kathgodam to Howrah will arrive at Asansol at 05:30 and depart at 05:40. At Rampurhat, it will arrive at 06:00 and depart at 06:02. At Andal, it will arrive at 06:15 and depart at 06:17. It will reach Durgapur at 06:31 and depart at 06:33, and Panagarh at 06:46 and depart at 06:48, starting from 25.10.24.
• Train no. 12495 from Bikaner to Kolkata will now arrive at Asansol at 09:49 and depart at 09:54. It will arrive at Durgapur at 10:22 and depart at 10:24, starting from 31.10.24.
• Train no. 22198 from Virangana Laxmibai Junction to Kolkata will arrive at Asansol at 16:22 and depart at 16:27, starting from 25.10.24.
• Train no. 22324 from Gazipur City to Kolkata will arrive at Asansol at 09:49 and depart at 09:54. It will reach Durgapur at 10:22 and depart at 10:24, starting from 25.10.24.
• Train no. 13156 from Sitamarhi to Kolkata will arrive at Asansol at 22:20 and depart at 22:25. It will arrive at Durgapur at 23:10 and depart at 23:12, starting from 25.10.24.
• Train no. 13138 from Azamgarh to Kolkata will now arrive at Asansol at 22:20 and depart at 22:25. It will reach Durgapur at 23:10 and depart at 23:12, starting from 29.10.24.
• Train no. 13136 from Jaynagar to Kolkata will arrive at Asansol at 22:20 and depart at 22:25. It will reach Durgapur at 23:10 and depart at 23:12, starting from 27.10.24.
• Train no. 13158 from Muzaffarpur to Kolkata will now arrive at Asansol at 22:20 and depart at 22:25. It will reach Durgapur at 23:10 and depart at 23:12, starting from 30.10.24.

• Train no. 15236 from Darbhanga to Howrah will now arrive at Asansol at 23:10 and depart at 23:15. It will reach Durgapur at 23:55, starting from 25.10.24.
• Train no. 15272 from Muzaffarpur to Howrah will arrive at Asansol at 23:05 and depart at 23:15. It will reach Rampurhat at 23:31 and depart at 23:33. It will arrive at Durgapur at 23:52 and depart at 23:54, starting from 29.10.24.

It will reach Jamtara at 09:42 and depart at 09:44, arriving at Vidyasagar at 09:59 and departing at 10:01. It will reach Madhupur at 10:22 and depart at 10:27, Jasidih at 10:55 and depart at 11:00, and Simultala at 11:25 and depart at 11:26, starting from 25.10.24.

• Train no. 19413 from Ahmedabad to Kolkata will now arrive at Asansol at 11:35 and depart at 11:45. It will arrive at Durgapur at 12:13 and depart at 12:15, starting from 30.10.24.
• Train no. 13152 from Jammu Tawi to Kolkata will arrive at Barakar at 11:05 and depart at 11:07. It will reach Ukhra at 11:11 and depart at 11:13. It will arrive at Asansol at 11:27 and depart at 11:37. It will reach Rampurhat at 11:55 and depart at 11:57. The next stop will be Durgapur, where it will arrive at 12:22 and depart at 12:24. • Vivek Express revised timing (from 29.09.2024) : For Train No. 22504 Dibrugarh – Kanyakumari Vivek Express (Journey commencing on 28.09.2024): New Bongaigaon : 10:05/10:10. Kokrajhar : 10:35/10:37. New Alipurduar : 11:30/11:35. The times at New Cooch Behar, Mathabhanga, Jalpaiguri Road, and New Jalpaiguri remain unchanged. For Train No. 22503 Kanyakumari – Dibrugarh Vivek Express (Journey commencing on 26.09.2024): New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar : No Change. Mathabhanga : 01:30/01:32., Jalpaiguri Road : 00:32/00:34., New Jalpaiguri : 23:55/00:05. It is also noted that there will be no changes in the timings of the trains over other Zones, Divisions, and Stations.
• Grand Trunk Express revised timing : The arrival time at Chennai Egmore Station for Train No. 12616 New Delhi – Chennai Egmore Grand Trunk Express has been revised with effect from 27.09.2024. As per the new schedule, the train will arrive at Chennai Egmore at 05:00 hrs.
• Train No. 20658 Hazrat Nizamuddin-SSS Hubballi Weekly Express at Kurduwadi and Daund Stations w.e.f October 6, 2024. Train will now arrive/depart Daund at 4:15/4:20 p.m. instead of 4:25/4:30 p.m., and will arrive/depart Kurduwadi at 5:43/5:45 p.m. instead of 5:53/5:55 p.m.
• The timing for Train No. 16525, Kanniyakumari – KSR Bengaluru Express, will be changed effective from October 1, 2024. According to the revised schedule, the train will now arrive at KSR Bengaluru at 07:00.
• Train Nos.06601/06602 Mangaluru Central – Madgaon – Mangaluru Central Passenger Special at the following stations with effect from 13th August, 2024 as given below: Train No. 06601 Madgaon Jn – Mangaluru Central Special train will depart from Madgaon Jn at 15.55 hrs.Train No. 06602 Mangaluru Central – Madgaon Special train will arrive Madgaon at 13.30 hrs.

Northern Railway : Revision in Timing of Trains

Northern Railway has announced a revision in the timings of the following trains to ensure smoother operations. The details are as follows:

Train No. 15903 (Dibrugarh – Chandigarh Express):

• Effective from 02.12.2024, the revised timings are:
  • Katihar Junction: Arrival at 07:55, Departure at 08:05
  • Naugachia: Arrival at 08:53, Departure at 08:55
  • Khagaria: Arrival at 09:42, Departure at 09:44
  • Barauni: Arrival at 10:35, Departure at 10:45
  • The timings between Barauni and Chandigarh remain unchanged.

Train No. 19616 (Kamakhya – Udaipur City Express):

• Effective from 05.12.2024, the revised timings are:
  • Katihar Junction: Arrival at 07:55, Departure at 08:05
  • Naugachia: Arrival at 08:53, Departure at 08:55
  • Khagaria: Arrival at 09:42, Departure at 09:44
  • Begusarai: Arrival at 10:11, Departure at 10:13

Train No. 15705 (Champaran Humsafar Express):

• Effective from 02.12.2024, the revised timings are:

  • Khagaria: Arrival at 09:42, Departure at 09:44
  • The timings between Khagaria and Delhi remain unchanged.

Shifting of Terminal

Train Nos.09523/24 Okha – Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Okha special train from Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Delhi Cantt. : Train No.09523 Okha – Delhi Sarai Rohilla special train JCO 06.08.2024 will terminate at Delhi Cantt. station instead of Delhi Sarai Rohilla. Train No.09524 Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Okha special train JCO 07.08.2024 will commence its service from Delhi Cantt. instead of Delhi Sarai Rohilla. It will depart from Delhi Cantt. at 13.40 hrs.

Revised Composition of Trains – July 2024 Updates

• Train No. 16527/16528 Yesvantpur – Kannur –Yesvantpur Express : Two General Second Class Coaches will be added in place of Two Sleeper Class Coaches Ex.Yesvantpur with effect from 24.01.2025 and Ex.Kannur with effect from 25.01.2025. The coach composition after the revision will be 1- AC Two Tier Coach, 5- AC Three Tier Coaches, 9- Sleeper Class Coaches, 4- General Second Class Coaches, 1- Second Class Coach (Divyangjan Friendly) and 1- Luggage cum Brake van.
• Train No. 22681/22682 Mysuru – Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysuru Express : Two General Second Class Coaches will be added in place of Two AC Three Tier Coaches Ex.Mysuru with effect from 29.01.2025 and Ex.Dr MGR Chennai Central with effect from 30.01.2025. • Train No. 12251/12252 Yesvantpur-Korba-Yesvantpur Wainganga Bi-weekly Express: Two General Second Class Coaches will be added in place of o­ne AC Three Tier Coach & o­ne Sleeper Class, effective from July 9, 2024, from Yesvantpur and July 11, 2024 from Korba. The revised coach composition will be as follows: First AC-1, AC Two Tier-2, AC Three Tier-5, Sleeper Class-7, Genral Second Class-4, Pantry Car-1, and Brake, luggage cum generator car-2.
• Train No. 12253/12254 SMVT Bengaluru-Bhagalpur-SMVT Bengaluru Anga Weekly Superfast Express: One General Second Class Coaches will be added in place of o­ne AC Three Tier Coach, effective from July 13, 2024, from SMVT Bengaluru and July 17, 2024 from Bhagalpur. The revised coach composition will be as follows: First AC-1, AC Two Tier-2, AC Three Tier-5, Sleeper Class-8, Genral Second Class-3, Pantry Car-1, and Brake, luggage cum generator car-2.
• Train Nos.12939/12940 Pune – Jaipur Express Trains : Train No.12939 Pune – Jaipur Express Trains composition will change w.e.f 02.11.2024. Train No.12940 Jaipur – Pune Express trains composition will change w.e.f 03.11.2024 : One First AC Cum AC – II Tier, 2 AC – II Tier, 4 AC – III Tier, 2 AC – III Tier Economy, 5 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class including 2 Guard’s Brake Van. (20 LHB Coaches).
• Train Nos.17318/17317 Dadar-Hubballi Express : Train No.17318 Dadar-Hubballi Express from Dadar with effect from 03.07.2024. Train No.17317 Hubballi-Dadar Express from Hubballi with effect from 04.07.2024. Composition : 1 AC-II Tier, 1 AC-III Tier, 7 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class including 2 Guard’s Brake Van (15 Coaches)

Stoppages of Trains

• Train No. 16301/16302 Shoranur – Thiruvananthapuram central – Shoranur Venad Express will be provided a 5-minute stoppage at Thrissur effective from 5th July 2024.

Augmentation of Trains

• Augmentation of an additional AC three-tier coach for Train No. 14805/14806 Yesvantpur-Barmer-Yesvantpur Weekly AC Express with effect from Barmer from October 3, 2024 and from Yesvantpur station with effect from October 7, 2024.

Additional Stoppage Of Trains

• Railway announced that Railway has decided to provide the stoppage of 14049/14050 Godda – Delhi – Godda weekly Express at Dhanwar station over Dhanbad Division of East Central Railway leaving Godda o­n and from 16.10.2024 and leaving Delhi o­n and from 14.10.2024. 14049 Godda – Delhi Weekly Express and 14050 Delhi – Godda Weekly Express will arrive Dhanwar station at 16:04 hrs and 09:16 hrs. respectively. Both the trains will stop at Dhanwar station for 02 minutes.

The Ministry of Railways has unveiled its 44th edition of the All India Railway Time Table, referred to as “TRAINS AT A GLANCE (TAG),” which became effective starting October 1, 2023. This updated version of the “Trains at a Glance” can also be accessed on the official website of Indian Railways.

Central Railway announced that CR has decided to change the Platform Numbers at Panvel Railway Station in view of Panvel Suburban Yard Remodelling work. Panvel Suburban Platforms will be will be renumbered as under:-

Extend The Services of Trains

• it has been decided to extend the services of tri-weekly train no. 15612/15611 (Silchar – Guwahati – Silchar) Expess upto Rangiya in both directions w.e.f 04th September, 2023. Accordingly, train no. 15611 (Rangiya – Silchar) Express departs from Rangiya at 15:45 hours o­n every Monday, Thursday & Saturday w.e.f 04th September, 2023 to reach Silchar at 04:40 hours o­n the next day. In return direction, train no. 15612 (Silchar – Rangiya) Express departs from Silchar at 22:15 hours o­n every Wednesday, Friday & Sunday w.e.f 06th September, 2023 to reach Rangiya at 10:30 hours o­n the next day. During it’s both ways journey, the train runs via Changsari, Kamakhya, Guwahati, Chaparmukh Jn., Hojai, Lumding Jn., New Haflong, Badarpur Jn. and Katakhal stations. Consisting of 14 coaches, the train has AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper class and second-class seating coaches for the passengers.

Starting from 01.01.2024, Train No. 17230/17229, the Secunderabad – Thiruvananthapuram – Secunderabad Sabari Express, will follow a new route via Shoranur ‘B’ Cabin, bypassing Shoranur Junction.

• Train No. 17230 Secunderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express will arrive Wadakancheri at 10.14 hrs and will depart at 10.15 hrs. This stop is between Shoranur ‘B’ Cabin and Thrisur. The train will arrive Thiruvananthapuram at 18.05 hrs. There will be no alterations in the timings for Train No. 17230, the Secunderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express, between the Secunderabad and Ottappalam stations.

Changes have been introduced in the 2023-2024 timetable to optimize operating hours. These adjustments involve increasing train speeds and reducing the time between departure and arrival. Through these vital modifications, operating time has been trimmed down by 5 minutes to 1 hour in various sections. Similarly, the South East Central Railway has revised the operating schedules for 229 stations served by trains in both up and down directions in the new timetable effective from October 01, 2023. Experimental Stoppage

The West Central Railway has announced an extension of temporary stoppages for the following trains, maintaining their current timings for a period of six months. It is crucial to monitor the usage closely during this period. After five months, a report, including traffic figures and recommendations regarding the continuation or discontinuation of this stoppage, should be submitted to this office for review.

West Central Railway has notified for extension of the temporary stoppages to the following trains on existing timings, for a period of six months.

The West Central Railway Administration has decided to extend the experimental stoppage period of 15 pairs of trains passing through Pamre for the next six months. The period of experimental stoppage has been extended at Vikramgarh Alot, Mahidpur, Anta, Garoth, Shamgarh and Suwasra stations under West Central Railway.

Trains to be extended for the period of experimental stoppage at Vikramgarh Alot station:-

• Train No. 12471/72 Bandra Terminus- Shrimata Vaishnav Devi Katra-Bandra Terminus Express train in both directions till 27 March 2024.
• Train No. 12475/76 Hapa – Shrimata Vaishnav Devi Katra-Hapa Express train in both directions till 01 April 2024.
• Train No. 20843/44 Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Bilaspur Express train in both directions till 28 March 2024.
• Train No.20845/46 Sambalpur-Bikaner-Sambalpur Express train in both directions till 28 March 2024.

• Train No.12465 Indore-Jodhpur Express train till 28 March 2024.

• Train No. 19037/19038 Bandra Terminus-Barauni-Bandra Terminus Express train in both directions till 29 March 2024.

Train to be extended for experimental stoppage at Anta station:-

• Train No. 22983/22984 Kota-Indore-Kota Express train in both directions till 05 April 2024.

Trains to be extended the period of experimental stoppage at Garoth station:-

• Train No. 19019/19020 Bandra Terminus-Howrah-Bandra Terminus Express train in both directions till 28 April 2024.
• Train No. 19037/19038 Bandra Terminus-Barauni-Bandra Terminus Express train in both directions till 28 March 2024.

The period of experimental stoppage of trains at Bhedaghat, Gosalpur, Deori and Dundi stations increased by 6 months. For the convenience of the passengers, the Railway Administration has decided to extend the period of experimental halt of three pairs of trains each at Gosalpur, Deori and Dundi stations of Pamre and one pair of trains at Bhedaghat station for the next six months. Now Vindhyachal Express at Bhedaghat station, Narmada Express, Rewa Intercity and Vindhyachal Express at Gosalpur station, Narmada Express, Singrauli Intercity and Vindhyachal Express at Deori station and Narmada Express, Rewa Intercity and Vindhyachal Express at Dundi station will stop till 31 March 2024. Will remain. The detailed information about the experimental halt period is as follows:-

• Train No. 18233/18234 Narmada Express train running daily between Indore – Bilaspur – Indore was experimentally stopped at Gosalpur, Deori and Dundi stations for six months in both directions till 03 October 2023, which has now been extended. Has been extended till 31 March 2024.
• Train No. 11271/11272 Itarsi – Vindhyachal running daily between Bhopal – Itarsi. The experimental stoppage of the express train at Bhedaghat, Gosalpur, Deori and Dundi stations in both directions was done for six months till 03 October 2023, which has now been extended till 31 March. Has been done by 2024.
• Train No. 22189/22190 Rewa Intercity Express train running daily between Jabalpur – Rewa – Jabalpur was experimentally stopped at Gosalpur and Dundi stations for six months in both directions till 03 October 2023, which has now been extended. Has been done till 31st March 2024.
• The experimental stoppage of Train No.11651/11652 Singrauli Intercity Express train running daily between Jabalpur – Singrauli – Jabalpur at Deori station for six months in both directions was done till 03 October 2023, which has now been extended till 31 March. Has been done by 2024.

Additional Stoppages of Trains

The Ministry of Railways has given a stoppage of 02 minutes for six months in both directions on an experimental basis at Kapren station of Pamre from 22 September 2023 to 19 March 2024 for Train No. 19807/19808 Kota-Hisar-Kota Express.

• Train No.19807 Kota-Hisar will arrive at Kapren station at 12:13 midnight and depart for the destination at 12:15 am.
• Train No.19808 will arrive at Hisar-Kota Kapren station at 04:18 am and depart for the destination at 04:20 am.

Train Name Change

• The Railway Administration has decided to name West Central Railway originating/terminating Train No.22165/22166 Bhopal-Singrauli-Bhopal Bi-Weekly Superfast Express and Train No.22167/22168 Singrauli-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Singrauli Weekly Superfast Express as Urjadhani Express.

• Zonal Time Table for Public – This time table is published annually by group of Zonal Railways (like Central Railway, Eastern Railway etc.) In addition to the train timings, additional information, that is useful for the passengers, such as ruled regarding reservation and refunds, cancellation of confirmed booking, fare tables and other facilities at stations, is also provided in this time table. Copies of this time table are available for sale at the booking offices and book stalls.
• Trains at a Glance for public – This is a compiled time table for all trains in Indian Railways. Important trains are shown with time of arrivals and departures at important stations, right from the origination station to the terminating staton in one table only. Therefore users need not refer to a number of tables/time tables to find out the schedule a particular train.
• Working Time Table for use of Staff – Several operational details are required to be conveyed to the railway staff connected with running of trains and maintenance the infrastructure on the railways. This information is conveyed to the staff through the working time table. These time table are primarily made Railway division wise. The Information in Working Time Table includes Technical halts, various time allowances, list of level crossing gates, list of Permanent speed restrictions, crossing and precedence table, ruling gradients, signalling systems etc.
