MEGA BLOCK November 17, 2024:: MUMBAI LOCAL TRAIN

MUMBAI MEGA BLOCK: CENTRAL LINE, HARBOUR LINE, TRANS HARBOUR LINE, URAN LINE, and WESTERN LINE: November 17, 2024

Central Railway and Western Railway will conduct Mumbai Mega Block and Jumbo Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works under both the Railway zones.

Central Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Mega Block and Western Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Jumbo Block.

Central Railway announced the details of Mega Block on Sunday i.e. on 17.11.2024. But Western Railway not yet announced the details of Jumbo Blocks in Western Line on 17.11.2024. Mumbai local train mega block details are as follows

CENTRAL LINE

Matunga – Mulund Up and Down Slow Lines (11.05 am – 03.55 pm)

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, UP and DOWN slow line services between Matunga and Mulund will be affected from 11:05 AM to 3:55 PM.

• DOWN slow line services departing CSMT from 10:14 AM to 3:52 PM will be diverted to the DOWN fast line between Matunga and Mulund. These trains will halt at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund stations. They will then be re-diverted to the DOWN slow line at Mulund station and are expected to arrive at their destinations 15 minutes behind schedule.
• Similarly, UP slow line services departing Thane from 11:07 AM to 3:51 PM will be diverted to the UP fast line at Mulund. Between Mulund and Matunga, these trains will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, and Sion stations. They will then be re-diverted to the UP slow line at Matunga station and are also expected to arrive at their destinations 15 minutes behind schedule.

HARBOUR LINE

Kurla – Vashi Up and Down Harbour Lines (11:10 am – 4:10 pm)

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, UP and DOWN Harbour line services between Kurla and Vashi will remain suspended from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.

• During this period, DOWN Harbour line services to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel departing from CSMT between 10:34 AM and 3:36 PM will be canceled. Similarly, UP Harbour line services to CSMT departing from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi between 10:16 AM and 3:47 PM will also be canceled.
• However, special train services will be available between CSMT-Kurla and Kurla-Panvel/Vashi during the block period.
• Additionally, Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

TRANS – HARBOUR LINE

Central Railway / Western Railway announced another Major Train Block, details are following:-

Jogeshwari – Goregaon Stations (12 hour block from 11.30 pm to 11.30 am)

Central Railway Updates

Central Railway has announced a major 12-hour maintenance block on the Harbour Line between Jogeshwari and Goregaon, scheduled from 11:30 PM on November 16, 2024, to 11:30 AM on November 17, 2024.

Impact on Services During the Maintenance Block

• Train Operations – Up and Down slow and fast services will operate on the Fast lines between Andheri and Goregaon/Borivali.
• Harbour Line Services – Services from Central Railway will terminate at Andheri and reversed.
• Ram Mandir Station – No train services will be available to/from Ram Mandir.
• Service Cancellations – Some suburban services will be canceled or short-terminated list of which is available with all station masters office.

Western Railway Updates

Western Railway has announced that a 12-hour block will be imposed on the UP and DOWN Slow lines and Harbour lines between Jogeshwari and Goregaon to facilitate the re-girdering work of Bridge No. 46. This block will be effective from 23:30 hrs on November 16, 2024, to 11:30 hrs on November 17, 2024. As a result, several suburban train services and some Mail/Express trains are expected to be affected. Following changes will be observed during the block:

Impact on Services During the Maintenance Block

• All UP and Down Slow lines will operate on UP and DOWN Fast lines between Andheri and Goregaon/Borivali and will not halt at Ram Mandir station due to the unavailability of a platform.
• Harbour line services originating from Central Railway will terminate at Andheri and reverse from there during the block period.
• Some Churchgate to Goregaon/Borivali Slow services will be short-terminated and reversed from Andheri.
• Mail/Express trains on UP and DOWN lines will experience delays of 10–20 minutes during the block.
• A list of suburban train cancellations and short-terminations will be made available at all suburban stations.
• No trains will halt at Ram Mandir station in either direction during the block.

The maintenance mega block / jumbo block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.
